About the Artist:

Lulu Something is a Mexican-American artist based in Los Angeles, CA. She grew up in a creative family and began making art as a teenager. Her first medium was photography, through which she captured striking portraits of the people around her. She then studied Fine Art and Photography at the University of Colorado and worked as a studio photographer. 

While working on set, Lulu discovered her passion for makeup as an art form. This new medium brought her back to Los Angeles, where she built a successful career as a makeup artist. Lulu has collaborated with numerous celebrities and fashion designers. Her work has been featured at New York Fashion Week and showcased on Vogue.com. 

In 2021, Lulu returned to the studio, this time to explore sculpture. Lulu works with paper mache and clay, incorporating historical cultural techniques while embracing a modern contemporary aesthetic. This new chapter in her artistic journey reflects her commitment to honoring her heritage while exploring the depths of her personhood. Through her work, Lulu pushes creative boundaries, creating art that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
