About the Artist:

Claire Astrow’s abstract acrylic paintings draw inspiration from the dynamic landscape of San Francisco. She observes the city’s colors and forms, translating them into vibrant, energetic compositions that radiate a sense of jubilance and defiance.

Originally from Los Angeles and now based in San Francisco, Claire Astrow earned her BA in Art Practice from the University of California, Berkeley. She has held notable fellowships, including the Screenprinting Fellowship at Kala Art Institute (2020–21) and the Blau-Gold Fellowship at Root Division (2017–18). Her work has been exhibited at Soft Times, Mini Mart, Root Division, and Oakland Artworks. In addition to her art practice, Claire serves as the Editorial & Marketing Manager at Illustoria Magazine, where she has contributed since the magazine’s inception in 2016
