Influenced by the Abstract Expressionists, she continually reinvents herself, finding new ways to express and connect amidst life’s changes. Her work serves as a bridge to deepen her relationship with the world and those around her, embodying her role as a teaching artist.

Having grown up in some of the country’s most iconic National Parks—such as the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, the Grand Canyon in Arizona, and Mesa Verde in Colorado—Sandra’s identity is deeply tied to these experiences. As the child of a career National Park Service Ranger, her connection to nature serves as a cornerstone of her artistic exploration, using the natural environment as a powerful starting point for her work.
